The Department of Psychology, University of Layyah, proudly celebrated World Mental Health Day 2025 in collaboration with Nursing College Layyah and Daf-ul-Hikmat Neuropsychiatry Clinic. The event aimed to raise awareness about the importance of mental health and to promote compassion, resilience, and care within the community.

DC Layyah, AC Layyah, distinguished faculty members, and students from multiple departments participated in the event with full zeal and enthusiasm. The program began with a welcome address by the faculty of Psychology, followed by motivational talks, interactive discussions, and awareness sessions on mental well-being.

Students showcased inspiring role plays, thematic projects, and creative sketches based on this year’s global theme — "Access to Services, Mental Health in Catastrophes and Emergencies." Their performances beautifully depicted how timely care, empathy, and awareness can transform lives during challenging times.

The Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zubair Abu Bakar appreciated the efforts of the Department of Psychology for organizing such a meaningful event. He emphasized that the University of Layyah is committed to nurturing not just educated minds, but emotionally strong and socially responsible individuals.

Faculty members from Nursing College and Daf-ul-Hikmat Clinic also spoke about the need for community-based mental health awareness, encouraging youth to break the stigma, support one another, and seek professional help when needed.

“Zehni sukoon bhi aik ibadat hai,
Khud se mulaqat ka waqt nikalna zaroori hai.”

Let’s nurture minds, heal hearts, and spread awareness — because mental health matters!
