The Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (4 Year) program and Information Technology (4 Year) program at the University of Layyah is designed to equip students with a robust foundation in both the theoretical principles and practical applications of computer technology. Established on 18-09-2023, the program is designed to equip students with a strong foundation in computer science, allowing them to specialize in various domains within the field.

The primary objective of the Computer Science Department is to offer a comprehensive education in computing, ensuring that graduates are well-equipped to navigate the complexities of the modern tech landscape. In anticipation of accreditation by relevant authorities, the department is actively working to meet the minimum requirements for recognition by accrediting bodies such as the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan and National Computing Education Accreditation Council (NCEAC).
