Today marks the inauguration of the University of Layyah's (UL) second Advanced Computer Lab — not just a new facility, but a symbol of progress and opportunity.

  • High-speed internet connectivity
  • Modern computing systems
  • Access to specialized software for programming, AI, data science, and web development
  • Collaborative spaces for student projects and group learning

Worthy Vice Chancellor UL, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zubair Abu Bakar, inaugurated the lab as the chief guest.

Tribute to Pakistani Digital Pioneers

In his speech, the worthy VC paid tribute to great digital pioneers from Pakistan:

  1. Dr. Ata ur Rahman — foundation for higher education & modern IT infrastructure.
  2. Ms. Arfa Karim Randhawa — world's youngest Microsoft Certified Professional.
  3. Dr. Umar Saif — known for mobile computing & digital governance.
  4. The Alvi Brothers (Basit & Amjad Farooq Alvi) — early (historic) work related to computer viruses on IBM PC.
